hi
i have read through all the posts about the ACL error when trying to rip to SMB.
Wiso has said quite a few times its just a warning but every time i try, it just spits out the cd then a copy report is produced and says 0 Files copied ACL file processing not suported with SMB and asks me to press start and then goes back to the main screen. The network is working fine i have all the other networking set up and have wrighting access to the folder where i was to dump the games, i have tested this by copying an mp3 using the file manager and its working fine, i am useing XP Home and the smb is set up so
<smb>
<workgroup>WORKGROUP</workgroup>
<winsserver>-</winsserver>
<shares>
<share>
<name>Xbox Game Dump</name>
<url>smb://80.xxx.xxx.64/Xbox Games</url>
</share>
</shares>
</smb>
this share is completley accessable by XBMC file manager and Dvd2XboX file manager
i have turned off ACL processing in the settings and it doesent seem to do any thing for it
any help would be apriciated
thanks allot

| Yeah, could reproduce the bug with DVDs. While ISOs and game DVDs copy fine video dvds fail. The bug is fixed in the next version. |

| With Halo2? Games work fine for me. What did the status bar of dvd2xbox told you after inserting Halo2? Was it recognized as XBox Game? |

Ok, please don't let us mix up the problems here.
The ACL sentence is a information and no error messages. It was always printed out if you copy something via SMB (in future versions only for xbox games).
The DVD thingy was a real bug, because the content wasn't copied.
So question: Where you able to copy OXM disc 53 and halo 1 via SMB or did it just print out the result page with 0 files copied? |

Ok thanks. I'll remove the message because it confuses more than it helps (for DVD and ISO).
I found the same bug also for ISO->SMB and fixed it but I can't reproduce it with a normal xbox game. Could you please have a look what the bottom status line of dvd2xbox tells you when the error occur? |

0 Files copied ACL file processing not suported with SMB
<--That is reported after you click start to start the transfer via SMB.
Then it says press start to continue or whatever and goes back to the main screen.
I know my network share is working because I have tested it out, and have tested two games now Halo 2, and Dead to Rights and both games give me the same error.
Hope that can MAYBE help you a little although it is exactly what is said above... |

Sorry if I make myself not clear. The status line is that what is shown on the mainpage where it prints "DVD:". The question is what is written after DVD, XBOX game, ISO, Video DVD etc?
I was able to copy Project Gotham via SMB to my PC without a problem. |

Yep when I put the disc in I get the
"XBOX Software 3381 MB" but of course with different file sizes depending on the disc. Yet when i go to copy it gives me the acl error and copies 0 files and 0 folders even if I have the ACL options disabled. It leaves me with the only option to press start returning me to the main menu. It does this with no matter what game I try, i havent tried a movie yet. I am using the dvd2xbox version 0.7.2, could it possibly have something to do with using this newer version, ive never used an older version other to just rip to the hard drive. Which btw, i can rip to the hard drive using 0.7.2 just fine, just not over a samba share.
Btw, thanks for all the help Wiso! |

You did all update your dvd2xbox.xml file and not just the xbe didn't you ? The layout of the samba section changed heaps
its gone from this
Code:
<smb>
<workgroup>WORKGROUP</workgroup>
<winsserver>-</winsserver>
<url>smb://pups:pups@192.168.1.20/WUTemp/</url>
</smb>
to this
Code:
<smb>
<workgroup>WORKGROUP</workgroup>
<winsserver>-</winsserver>
<shares>
<share>
<name>Example share 1</name>
<url>smb://pups:pups@192.168.1.20/WUTemp/</url>
</share>
<share>
<name>Example share 2</name>
<url>smb://user2:pwd@192.168.1.20/WUTemp/</url>
