Thanks for building such as great product. My feature request relates to having automatic ACL updates within the DVD2Xbox program.

I don't know if the program has a backup of all the available ACLs but if it could regularly check for new ones and update them that would be great. I've looked at #xbins and your homepage and its only the DVD2Xbox homepage that has a source of available ACLs to offer.

There're other sources for ACLs but there're only for cleaning up and not for patching new games.
The dvd2xbox page has the most recent ACL files which are generally needed. New ACL files aren't so often seen therefore the developing of the network functionality would be more effort than we could gain from it.
Another question is how many people would use this feature and do we have a server which can handle the traffic and we're allowed to do so ?

I see your point, I currently use Avalaunch as my dashboard and it does have the feature to download a new version of DVD2Xbox when it become available.

How many people use the ACL feature in DVD2Xbox? In my own opinion most who backup their games onto their Xbox's HDD would use this feature, exactly how many I don't know.

Do we have a server to handle the traffic? Not to my knowledge. Are we allowed to do so? This most likely this depends on whether the author of DVD2Xbox would approve of it to have it included in their application.

From the log of updates on their web site implementing this features is very low in the set of priorities and any competent modder could simply download, unrar and then upload a new ACL directory into their DVD2Xbox home directory.

I guess for now the current ACL update model for updating DVD2Xbox works best, either if your dashboard has the option update the entire application from there (Avalauch) or get a new copy and load it yourself onto the Xbox (#xbins).

From my understanding doing it this way it usually include all cumulative ACLs update or if you want more you can get it from the "Xbox File Ripping Information" website.

I agree, implementing an update function into DVD2Xbox for ACLs would be give little return. In my case the challenge is finding game information for PAL titles instead of very comprehensively catalogue NTSC releases.
