To be honest, I don't know. I use a really simple texture loading function via D3DXCreateTextureFromFileEx (directx8.1). Maybe there's room to optimize it. The only thing I noticed was after decreasing the background image from 640x480 to 512x256 I saved 1MB of memory.
But use the memory as you want. At the moment I don't need it ;-) |
