I think that improving the way DVD2XBOX works with PC DVDRom drives would be VERY benificial. Why? Replacing a bad drive with a real XDVD drive is just to costly for such an old console.
Right now it works to an extent... seems to be hit and miss. Games show up in the File Explorer but you still can't rip them. |

dvd2xbox needs to recognize the inserted medium to rip it properly. When auto detection is disabled you have to press the back button.
I've never tested it myself but it wasn't used/requested often.
Development of dvd2xbox has stopped due to lack of time and it's quite ok for the "old" games :) |

DVD2XBOX is more than quite alright... it's a great program.
I know how to change and apply the settings. It's just a little dodgy about detecting media in a NON XDVD Drive.
Shame it's no longer being developed.
EDIT**
I just re-read your post.... are you saying that once I've inserted the disc into the PCDVD Rom I need to hit the BACK button at the main menu for the disc to be detected?

There're a lot of hidden and non hidden features which the majority doesn't know. Don't ask me why I tried to keep everyone informed in the recent month during development ;) |
